White Ash has partnered with Scout Comics who will bring the tales of Aleck and Lillian to direct market, ComiXology and bookstores everywhere. Conor, Fin and I are thrilled to be joining their amazing stable of tiles as we start the next phase of our story.
What does that mean for you, the Kickstarter backer? For now, most things will remain the same, we’re going to bring Chapter Five and Six to kickstarter in September. But with Scout onboard as our publishing partner, we can now make White Ash available to everyone.
We’ll have some more details very soon. But suffice to say, everyone on Team Ash is very excited about the future.

Charlie here. For you today, we have an update, we have breaking news, and we have another big tease…
The White Ash hardcovers have cleared customs. As such, I’ve been told they’ll be arriving early next week. I’m going to try to send out a few before Conor and I (Charlie) head down to San Diego for the 50th anniversary of San Diego Comic Con (Booth L-10). But the rest will start shipping out the week of July 21st, as soon as I’m back in Los Angeles.
As I was laying out plans for the year, I realized that there was going to be a longer gap than we usual have between issues as the printing and prep for the White Ash: Volume One hardcover was going to take a few extra months. It got me thinking, I should put something together to fill that gap… and future gaps in production going forward.
And by that, I mean a Brand New Series.
You see, I’ve been having an unimaginable amount of fun making White Ash with Conor and Fin. Thanks to the kickstarter community, we’ve been able to launch and sustain an amazing fantasy series. And I look forward to doing that for many years to come. But it was time to spread the wings a bit. So without further adieu, I’d like to present the cover to…
What is the Game? It’s our foray into grounded Science Fiction, the way White Ash is grounded fantasy (i.e. set in the real world). And it launches on Kickstarter on Monday, July 15th (that’s right, NEXT MONDAY).
But we’re going to drop a link to all of our White Ash backers on Sunday the 14th, so you can get an advance peak at the campaign, read a 10 page preview of the book before anyone else and scope out any limited rewards that you might want first crack at.
As you can see from the cover, I’ve roped Conor in for another adventure with me. Triona Farrell (Marvel, Image, Dark Horse) will be doing colors on this one, as I thought the book should have a different feel than White Ash. But don’t worry, Fin’s going to have a lot of work upcoming on the next two issues of White Ash. And yes, we’re doing more White Ash. A LOT. Don’t mistake doing something new as a sign that White Ash is done. White Ash is just beginning. (More on that in just a minute).
We’ve been keeping The Game under wraps because, like White Ash, the comic is loaded with plot twists and big reveals. We hope you’ll give The Game a chance and think you’ll love it just as much as White Ash. We’re counting on our amazing backers to give it a proper Kickstarter birth on Monday. As for White Ash…
We have some White Ash news, that we’re really excited to share. But we have to wait just a bit longer. We thought we’d be able to break it now, but we’ve been asked to wait a few more days.

Hello White Ashians,
We hope your summer is off to a wonderful start. Ours is looking super busy and it’s filled with exciting news. Some of which we’re about to share and some (INCREDIBLY BIG NEWS) we’re going to have to wait another week or two to pass on.
Let’s start with the books. They have landed in Los Angeles and are currently going though customs. We’ve been told by the printer that they should be arriving at White Ash HQ sometime in the next two weeks. As soon as they’re here, we’ll begin shipping them out. But we will have to take short break as we’ll be back at SDCC from the 17th-21st of July.
So, if you’re going to be at SDCC and would like to pick up your rewards there (L-10 in small press), let us know and we can make arrangements to have them on hand for you.
After the convention finishes, we’ll work on getting the rest of the books out as quickly as possible. Right now we’re anticipating all domestic books arriving by the end of July and all international books arriving by some time in August. Updates to follow as the packages are mailed.
What about more White Ash? Glad you asked. White Ash should be returning to Kickstarter to launch the next story arc in September. Why the wait? Two reasons.
One, this will be a super-sized kickstarter for Chapters Five AND Six. It’s going to take us a little more time to get the close to 80 pages of new material ready for prime time. But when we come back, it’ll be with a bang.
Two… something might have come up in the interim. Something that we’ll be telling you a LOT more about next week. But all we can say now is circle July 15th on your calendar.

We hope you’re all excited for summer with many fabulous plans on the docket. We’ve been working away here in White Ash and wanted to update you on a couple of things before too much more time went by.
First of all, the Behind the Scenes PDF was just sent out by Backerkit. If you don’t receive an email from them (by tomorrow am) notifying you of new digital content, let us know and we’ll hook you up.
Secondly, the Hardcovers are still on track to ship in July. We just received word from our printer, they’ve finished the binding and are now in the process of loading them on the slow boat to Los Angeles. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes, but currently we are on schedule.
Thirdly, anyone going to SDCC this year? White Ash will be making its second appearance at San Diego Comic Con. If you’re at the convention, please stop by. We’ll be at L-10 in the Small Press section. There’s a chance we’ll have another SDCC exclusive comic this year and Conor will be on hand for anyone looking for a piece of White Ash original art.
And Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t let you know, that right now three of our favorite creators have books live on kickstarter…
Starting with Pat Shand. Charlie here. If you’ve backed White Ash before, you know how much we love Pat. You may have picked up a copy of his amazing series Destiny NY. But for another 6 days he’s on Kickstarter with Clonsters, an all-ages graphic novel in the vein of Real Monsters meets Adventure time.
Clonsters could still use a little help getting over the finish line. So if you love Pat’s work as much as we do, please check it out.
Also back on Kickstarter is Karl Kesel with Impossible Jones.
We adore Karl here in White Ash. And if you don’t already know Karl, when you see the pinup he did for the White Ash hardcover, you're sure to love him too. Karl has worked on Superman, Harley Quinn, Spider-man… and now Aleck and Lillian.
Impossible Jones is another fantastic-looking book from a creator who really didn’t need the introduction we just gave him. But we’re happy to heap it on when it comes to Karl. So check out Impossible Jones and see if it’s a fit for you.
And lastly, but standing quite tall, is Ron Randall with his latest installment of Trekker.
Ron is another pro’s pro who’s been brushing down the quality lines longer than… well at least than Kickstarter’s been around. Trekker is a Sci-fi story following the bounty hunter Mercy St. Clair. If you like Lillian, here’s another raven-haired beauty who knows how to handle herself. I backed the first kickstarter and devoured the trade. I can’t wait to get my hands on Battlefields.
